Every account that has a domain name has its own
CGI-BIN directory. In the home directory, you should see a folder
called either www.yourdomain.com.cgi or just cgi-bin. You should upload
all CGI files into this directory. CGI scripts/programs will not work
inside the HTML directory
The following is an example Perl script that you can use to test the
CGI functionality of your web site:
Remember to make CGI files executable. If you are connected via
ssh or telnet, use the command
chmod 755 scriptname.
If you are using WS_FTP,
click on the right button (of your mouse) over the
scriptname, and select the chmod command,
then click on executable for all three categories. Refer to the
Permission and Security
page for more information about UNIX/Linux file permissions.
